MOtion is life

If you are a running athlete, you are likely aware of this debilitating nature of this condition. However, you may be interested in knowing that this, season limiting injury is treated quite efficiently and effectively in our office. The first step in properly addressing shin splints is finding the cause of the problem. A loss of stability within the arches of the foot or reduced mobility of the ankle joint, coupled with the repetitive stress of running sports will commonly lead to diffuse pain down the front of the shin. Our office is proud to say that we have seen incredible results with our high school and college athletes who have suffered from shin splints. Addressing the biomechanics of the foot and ankle, custom orthotics to support the arches, low level laser therapy to reduce swelling and improve tissue healing are some examples of the treatments used in our office to keep our athletes on the field and competing in the sports they love.
